Adding a Custom Server Icon

The server icon is the small image shown next to your server's name in a player's multiplayer server list. Adding one is a quick way to make your server look more polished.

Requirements​

Your image must be:

  • A PNG file
  • Exactly 64 × 64 pixels
  • Named exactly server-icon.png

Adding the Icon​

  1. Prepare your image so it meets the requirements above. Any image editor can resize an image to 64 × 64.
  2. Upload server-icon.png to the root folder of your server (the same folder that contains server.properties).
  3. Restart your server.

The icon is loaded when the server starts, so a restart is required for it to appear.

tip

If a player already has your server saved, they may need to remove and re-add it (or restart their game) before the new icon shows up, as the client caches the old one.
